Hayman Partners has been recognised with four wins at the 2026 REIACT Awards for Excellence, celebrating achievements across residential sales, community service, operational leadership and operational support.
From eight finalist nominations, Hayman Partners was awarded:
- Residential Salesperson of the Year, Tyran Murphy
- Operational Leadership Award, Rochelle Roberts
- Operational Support Person of the Year, Natasha Colefax
- Community Service Award, Hayman Partners
While bringing home four awards is something we are incredibly proud of, the real story sits behind the trophies.
Each award represents a different part of our business, from the way we advise and represent clients, to the systems and people that support our agency behind the scenes, and the contribution we believe a local business should make to the community around it.
Residential Salesperson of the Year, Tyran Murphy
Tyran Murphy‘s award followed a year of significant growth, but his submission demonstrated that the numbers were a result of changing the way he approached people, rather than simply doing more of the same. During FY25–26, Tyrans listing volume grew by 18.6 per cent. Behind those results was a deliberate shift towards asking better questions and understanding what clients actually wanted to achieve.
Rather than approaching every appraisal with the same presentation or every property with the same marketing formula, Tyran focused on understanding the seller, identifying the most likely buyer and building a strategy around the individual property.
That approach also influenced the way he recommended marketing. Instead of simply offering every available product, campaigns were tailored around the home, likely buyer profile and objectives of the seller.
It is an approach that reflects something we strongly believe at Hayman Partners, better real estate outcomes rarely come from simply doing more. Often, they come from thinking differently about the problem in front of you.
Community Service Award, Hayman Partners
Our Community Service Award recognised Hayman Partners’ partnership with Pegasus Riding for the Disabled ACT and its 50th Anniversary Golden Gala.
From the beginning, we never wanted to approach the relationship as simply another corporate sponsorship.
Instead, we asked what skills, resources and relationships Hayman Partners could contribute that would genuinely strengthen Pegasus.
The result became one of the largest community projects our team has undertaken.
Hayman Partners contributed 1,147 volunteer hours, attended 18 organising committee meetings, approached 103 businesses and introduced eight sponsors who contributed $55,000 in direct sponsorship. Our team helped secure nine live auction items and 41 silent auction items, coordinated volunteers, engaged local schools and delivered marketing, media, photography, videography, design and fundraising support.
Most importantly, the Golden Gala ultimately became the most successful fundraising event in Pegasus’ 50-year history.
But the impact extended beyond one night.
New businesses, volunteers, students and supporters were introduced to Pegasus, strengthening its connections throughout Canberra and creating relationships that continued after the event.
For us, that is what meaningful community involvement should look like.
Not simply writing a cheque or placing a logo on an event, but using the resources of our business to leave an organisation stronger than we found it.
Operational Leadership Award, Rochelle Roberts
Much of what allows a real estate agency to perform at a high level happens well away from open homes and sold signs.
As Financial Controller, Rochelle Roberts has an enormous influence across the financial, operational and people functions of Hayman Partners.
Her responsibilities span financial management, trust accounting, payroll, budgeting, compliance, human resources, governance and strategic planning across a team of 35 employees and four trust accounts.
One initiative highlighted in Rochelle’s award submission demonstrates the broader impact of that leadership.
Recognising that the cost of employing a Sales Associate could prevent agents from expanding their teams, Rochelle developed a financial model allowing Hayman Partners to contribute towards the employment of associates while maintaining appropriate profitability and financial sustainability.
She modelled different GCI scenarios and agency contribution levels, presented the commercial case to the partners and developed the operational and governance framework required to implement it.
The proposal was unanimously approved by the partners, with two agents immediately joining the program and two Sales Associate roles created shortly afterwards.
The program does more than increase capacity for established agents. It helps create structured opportunities for emerging professionals to enter the industry, learn alongside experienced agents and progress towards their own careers in residential sales.
That combination of commercial thinking, people development and long-term planning is exactly what strong operational leadership looks like.
Operational Support Person of the Year, Natasha Colefax
Real estate campaigns involve far more moving parts than most clients will ever see.
Natasha Colefax is one of the people making sure those parts keep moving.
During the award submission period, Natasha supported Team Hayman through 214 residential listings and 176 sales, while also contributing to agency-wide administration across 325 listings, 386 exchanged sales and 394 settlements.
She managed approximately $1.93 million in vendor-paid advertising expenditure and assisted with settlement and trust account transactions.
Her contribution also goes far beyond processing transactions.
One example involved identifying a weakness in the agency’s emerging Anti-Money Laundering processes before it became a compliance issue.
Natasha recognised that while required checks were being undertaken, there was an opportunity to create a stronger record of how risk assessment decisions were being made.
Rather than waiting for an audit or review to expose the gap, she developed a standardised risk assessment process and presented it to leadership. The proposal was immediately adopted and now forms part of Hayman Partners’ AML procedures.
It is a good example of why operational support matters.
Great administration is not simply completing tasks that arrive on your desk. It is identifying problems before they become problems, improving the systems around you and making it easier for everyone else to deliver a better experience.
Four awards that represent one business
Residential sales, community service, financial leadership and operational support may appear to have very little in common.
In reality, they are deeply connected.
A great client experience depends on strong agents, but those agents depend on great administration, sound financial and operational leadership, effective systems and a culture where people are encouraged to improve what already exists.
Our community involvement comes from the same philosophy.
We believe a successful local business has an opportunity to use its people, relationships and experience to create value beyond its own walls.
Winning four REIACT Awards across such different categories is therefore something we are immensely proud of.
Not simply because of the trophies, but because of what they recognise about the people and culture behind Hayman Partners.
Congratulations to Tyran Murphy, Rochelle Roberts and Natasha Colefax, and to every member of our team who contributed to our Community Service Award and the work behind these achievements.
Four awards, one team, and plenty more still to come.
