Three houses that sold before they hit the internet

Sometimes, when the planets align, a house sells within hours of Hayman Partners listing it.

Actually, it’s less about planets aligning and more about agents with phenomenal networks, who ask the right questions behind the scenes and who work quickly to get clients through a property.

Here are three properties we’ve sold ‘off-market’ in the past month.

60 Lascelles Circuit, Kambah

When a lovely older couple were looking to move out of their long-time family home and into a retirement village, Hayman Partners sales agent Lauren McDonald knew a quiet VIP event was just the answer.

With a database of red-hot buyers looking for a home in Kambah, Lauren hosted a VIP night that included scallops from local takeaway Little Theo’s and an exclusive tour through the home.

“We had two offers on the night,” Lauren says.

“And the couple accepted one of those offers just days later – no open homes, no website listings, just a quiet event that got the house sold.”

This gorgeous outdoor area contributed to 60 Lascelles Circuit, Kambah, selling off-market.

Why was the property so popular?

“It truly was just a beautiful family home with a wonderful vibe,” Lauren says.

33 Maclaurin Crescent, Chifley

When Rick and Tina Meir listed the property at 33 Maclaurin Crescent, Chifley, they knew it would be in hot demand – but even they were surprised by how quickly it sold.

“Our vendors were selling their home on Maclaurin Crescent to build a new home at Denman Prospect,” Rick explains.

“But before they went to the massive effort of doing the property up for sale, I showed three developers through.

“Because it was zoned RZ2, we had three offers after holding just one open home.”

It seems so unassuming but Maclaurin Crescent, Chifley, is in hot demand. The super quick sale saved his vendors a lot of money – not to mention time – presenting and marketing the home, Rick says.

“The developer who bought the property was also flexible with settlement, which dovetailed nicely to their needs of moving into their new home at Denman.”

10 Parker Street, Curtin

When you’ve been working in a specific area of Canberra for more than two decades, you become the ‘go-to’ for people desperate to live, develop or buy a property in your specialty suburbs.

Just ask Brett Hayman.

Was it the blue bathroom that made 10 Parker Street, Curtin, so attractive?

Within 48 hours of listing number 10 Parker Street, Curtin, Brett had it sold.

“It was the classic case of a big block with the house built at the front of the block, making it perfect for developers,” Brett says.

A big block and RZ2 zoning contributed to this property selling within 48 hours.

“If you’ve got a house zoned RZ2 then definitely get in touch.”
